These are some of the main Lecture/Demonstrations and Workshops presented to groups in recent years
"PUPPETS IN PROFILE"
A lecture/demonstration covering the four main types of puppet - shadow, glove, rod and string. Including how each figure is made and short excerpts of performances with each.
A lecture/demonstration dedicated to the all-important aspect of puppet heads. From the simplest basic shapes with added features, to complex latex-moulded heads. Including painting techniques, wigs, characterisation, construction methods and materials.
"WITCHES & WIZARDS"
This workshop was presented as a follow-on to the above "Making Faces" Lecture/Demonstration and utilised some of the techniques covered in that presentation to make a witch or wizard rod puppet using either a polystyrene shape with added features or a paper mask.
"BEAUTIFUL BIRDS & BEASTLY BUGS"
This workshop presented ideas on how to make either a bird marionette or bug hand puppet from
foam, felt and fur fabric. For more pictures from this
